Getting Started: I’m a New Agent

eTrackCargo.com is a unique, full-service Internet-based tracking and tracing program designed for the traditional freight forwarder and their clients. eTrackCargo.com requires no special software, if you can access the Internet you can use the eTrackCargo.com program. Our services are free to all agents and customers of our subscribers. This allows the agents to update shipment data for our subscribers and together they both provide the total shipment tracking to their mutual client. eTrackCargo.com provides a neutral platform allowing many forwarders and software systems to work together through the Internet.

After being assigned an agent user ID and password you will be able to enter into the secure online application. There you can edit shipment information, run and view multiple reports, and send automatic e-mail notifications and alerts. As an agent in eTrackCargo.com, you cannot start a new shipment within the system. Only subscribing forwarders can start or post new shipments into the system. Your agent user ID will allow you access to all other functions of eTrackCargo.com.

The primary responsibility of the agent within eTrackCargo.com is to help maintain and update the shipment status. This may mean that you will update information such as dates, delivery changes, and time lines such as the ETA and ETD of a shipment.

Signing in With Your User ID and Password :

Once you have accessed the system with your user ID and password, the menu will appear and you will have 4 choices: Display Options, Search, View Reports, and Manage Lists.

Summary and Detailed Display Options:

Located in the upper right corner of the menu you may select a summary or detailed format to view the shipment data. Edits and updates can be performed within either format. If the data you need to update is not located in our summary form, click the "Details" button on top of the form to access the detailed format containing all other shipment information.

How to Search For a Shipment:

The upper left hand corner of the menu is where you will search for and retrieve shipment information. The search criteria is defaulted to "all" so by clicking "Search" all your shipments will be available to view. To access an individual shipment, click on the blue file number to open the record. How To Edit a Shipment:

After searching and opening a shipment, you may then edit and update the individual shipment data fields. If you need to add new information to a drop down field, use the hyperlink next to the data field to access the Manage List function, be sure to click the "New" button before adding the new information. Automatic e-mail Notifications:

If the subscriber sets up the contact to receive automatic email notifications, every time a shipment is edited and saved for that client you will be prompted to send out an automatic e-mail notification to all parties involved with the shipment. You may accept or decline to send out the notice. All e-mail addresses are maintained by the subscribing forwarder, and they control who receives the e-mail.

View Reports:

We offer a number of reports that can be utilized by management and your customer service department. Click on "View Reports" to open and then select the report you would like to view or print. Use the back arrow to return to the menu.

Using Carrier Tracking

For your convenience we have provided a carrier tracking link within eTrackCargo.com. Here you may check the status of your shipments with selected Air and Sea carriers.

Your User ID:

As an agent you may have shipments with other eTrackCargo.com subscribers. By providing them with your current eTrackCargo.com user ID you will be able to view and edit all your shipment information for multiple forwarders from one location and not have to move from one system to another. eTrackCargo.com is designed to allow a forwarders to support each other using a multitude of platforms for operating systems.

If you wish to subscribe to our services we will upgrade your current user ID to a master subscriber level.
