Adding a new Record is the term used to describe how a record is originally input into the system. To add a new record you must be a registered subscriber as an agent of eTrackCargo.com. Please note that when you subscribe to eTrackCargo.com, and we assign your login name and password, your company name will be added to the dropdown lists as an agent. In order to be able to view and edit/update your records, your company name must be selected as either the Origin Agent or Destination agent. Demonstration and test shipments can be performed but you must show either the origin agent or destination agent as'test' this will then become part of all the demonstration shipments database. If you do not use test then you cannot view a shipment at a later time or date. Field Type is the term used to describe the type of data a field can contain. In eTrackCargo.com we have used all text fields. This allows all types of alpha numeric data input, instead of forcing the user to have to learn specific types of number, date and time formats. This simplifies the use of the system. Max Length is the term used to describe the maximum number of characters that may be entered into the field. A user cannot input more than the maximum number of characters, because the system will simply stop you at that point of input. eTrackCargo.com has attempted to supply more than enough space for the information expected to be entered into the system. If you feel that a field is too short please contact us via email to let us know the field name and the recommended maximum length. Updating is the term used when you edit and post the changes to an existing record in eTrackCargo.com. These edits may be adding new data to the record or changing existing data already contained within the record. Please note that when you subscribe to eTrackCargo.com, and we assign your login name and password, your company name will be added to the dropdown lists as an agent. In order to be able to view and edit/update your records, your company name must be selected as either the Origin Agent or Destination agent. |
